Siman 192 — The Bride Before the Chuppah (Kallah): the Seven Clean Days of Dam Chimud, Tevilah, and Shemirah
The seven clean days of the bride once she has accepted the proposal (דם חימוד), the counting and the tevilah as close as possible to the בעילת מצוה, a postponed wedding that obliges her to recount, the שמירה when the kallah is נדה before the ייחוד, and מחזיר גרושתו — a topic treated with dignity and delicacy (Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh De'ah 192 — 5 seifim)
Every woman must count seven clean days before her wedding, once she has been asked in marriage and has accepted (נתפייסה); even if she checked herself at the time of the proposal and was found טהורה — for perhaps, out of חימוד (the emotion of desire), she saw a drop of blood כחרדל (like a mustard seed) without feeling it. And she begins to count from the next day.

Frequently asked questions — Siman 192
Why does the kallah count seven clean days (דם חימוד)?
The Shulchan Aruch (YD 192:1) rules that once the bride has been asked in marriage and has accepted (נתפייסה), she must count שבעה נקיים (seven clean days), even if she checked herself at the time of the proposal and was טהורה: for we are concerned that, out of חימוד (the emotion of the moment), she may have seen a drop of blood כחרדל (like a mustard seed) without feeling it. She begins to count from the next day after the proposal, and no hefsek tahara is required here. The practical application is carried out under the guidance of a kallah teacher (moret kallah) and the Rav.
When is the tevilah set, and what if the wedding is postponed?
The seven days are counted from when she sets her mind and prepares for the חופה, even before she is formally betrothed; the Rama teaches to perform the tevilah as close as possible to the בעילת מצוה (the wedding union), according to local custom. If the wedding is postponed, then even if she had already counted her נקיים, she must recount שבעה נקיים and re-immerse when they agree to marry — for the חימוד is renewed. The exact schedule (the date of the tevilah, postponement) is set with the kallah teacher and the Rav.
And if the kallah is נדה on the wedding night, before the ייחוד?
A חתן whose kallah has become נדה before the first union (the ייחוד) does not seclude (לא יתייחד) with her: he sleeps among the men, she among the women, and they are given a שומר / שומרת. The Rama cites a view (י״א) that, if she was טהורה at the wedding, there was no union, and she became נדה afterwards, this שמירה is not required — but one who is stricter is blessed (המחמיר תע״ב), and one does not distinguish בחור / אלמן, בתולה / אלמנה. A delicate situation, to be settled in practice with the Rav.
Does one who takes back his ex-wife (מחזיר גרושתו) also count?
Yes: one who takes back his ex-wife (מחזיר גרושתו) is, in this respect, like a new bride — she must count שבעה נקיים, for the same concern of דם חימוד applies. Here too, the practical conduct is set with the Rav and, where needed, the kallah teacher.
