Two Upper Storeys Facing Each Other, Open to a Courtyard

One seif in the Shulchan Aruch, with a gloss of the Rema; one seif also in the Shulchan Aruch HaRav. Two upper storeys facing each other open onto a courtyard that does not have four amos, and one of them made a pit there: who may pour his water there? The seif answers, among other things, according to the eruv — made together, or by one for itself, the other having made none — and according to the way of pouring: the one that made it for itself pours in the upper storey, the water running down to the pit, and not directly into the pit; the Rema's gloss adds the case of a courtyard of more than four amos.
